Overview
Not everyone has eight days to give to a Kashmir trip, and that's exactly the gap this package is built for. In four nights we cover the three towns that matter most — Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam — without the rushed, blink-and-you-missed-it feeling that short itineraries often have. The trick is sequencing: we don't zigzag back and forth chasing every possible sight, we move in one direction and let each place breathe for half a day before moving on. It works particularly well for weekend-adjacent leave, college friend groups, or a first Kashmir visit where you want to decide if you'll come back for longer (most people do).
Day-by-Day Itinerary
1Day 1: Arrive Srinagar, Settle into the Houseboat
Meals: Dinner
Day 1: Arrive Srinagar, Settle into the Houseboat
Meals: Dinner
Your driver meets you at Srinagar airport and the drive to Dal Lake takes under half an hour. From the ghat, a shikara paddles you out to your houseboat — carved walnut-wood interiors, a small sit-out deck, and that particular stillness that only settles in once the lake traffic thins out toward evening. No sightseeing planned today deliberately; most flights land midday and the smarter move is letting the altitude and the pace of the place catch up with you before day two starts properly.

2Day 2: Srinagar's Gardens, then on to Gulmarg
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 2: Srinagar's Gardens, then on to Gulmarg
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Morning at Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh — both Mughal-era terraced gardens that step down toward the lake in levels, chinar trees lining the water channels. By late morning we're on the road to Gulmarg, about an hour and a half from Srinagar, climbing steadily until the pine forest opens into that famous wide meadow. Check in, and if energy allows, a short walk around the meadow's edge before dinner — the light here in late afternoon is worth being outside for.

3Day 3: Gulmarg Gondola and Back to Srinagar
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3: Gulmarg Gondola and Back to Srinagar
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
The Gondola's first stage lifts you to Kongdori at close to 3,000 metres, and on a clear day the view stretches toward Nanga Parbat across the border — genuinely one of the more dramatic cable car rides in the country. We take our time here rather than rushing back down, then drive back to Srinagar for the night, giving you a free evening to wander Lal Chowk or just rest before Pahalgam tomorrow.

4Day 4: Pahalgam and the Lidder River
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4: Pahalgam and the Lidder River
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Pahalgam is about two hours from Srinagar, and the drive itself through Pampore's saffron fields and past the Awantipora ruins is part of the appeal. Once there, Betaab Valley's meadows and the Lidder River running through pine forest give a completely different texture from Gulmarg's open highlands — more forested, more intimate. An easy, unhurried afternoon rather than a checklist of stops.

5Day 5: Departure from Srinagar

Day 5: Departure from Srinagar
Meals: Breakfast
Drive back to Srinagar with enough buffer for last-minute shopping in Polo View Market for pashmina or dried saffron, then transfer to the airport for your flight home.
